There is nothing more frustrating than wasting our time looking and then spending money on something to only discover later that it will not work. ESPECIALLY if that something cannot be returned. Sounds familiar??
Here is how it usually goes: we order something online or buy it ‘live’ in a store, go home, try it on and then - ouch! Yep, we did it AGAIN. We made a mistake by doing the exact same thing we thought and swore we would never ever do again. Oh well… happens to all of us.
To minimize your frustration and save you money I have created this wonderful guide – ‘How to choose your dream lipstick guide – NYX brand’. Below are the real life pictures of what this lipstick looks like when applied to lips. The images were made with iPhone (no flash, at a day light). They were never photoshoped (to make things look prettier to deceive you), no special filters were applied, and they were never modified in any way to mislead you. It is what it is ladies! Please pick your hair color number from the image below. Also, please pick your eyes color name. Now, scroll through each lipstick name to find out if the lipstick color is right for you. The ‘temperature’ of your looks (‘warm’ or ‘cold’) was already taken into consideration. The color of your skin was not taken into consideration for two major reasons:
~ the hair color and the color of your eyes are already primary and strong deciding factors; they ‘rule’ your face and your looks.
~ your current looks – the colors of your hair, eyes, and your skin - should be pretty much in harmony with each other already i.e. should look ’together’. Adding a lipstick to this trio will only enhance it, not destroy it or put it ‘off balance’.
FYI: I am an interior designer; I studied colors and worked with various color palettes for years. This beautifully designed website is an example of it.

For example, if you have black hair and green eyes, then your hair color number is 14 and eye color name is ‘green’. All you have to do now is to scroll down through each lipstick name to see if it will work for your looks. Easy-Breezy.
My personal opinion about this lipstick: it has a strong pigmentation, it goes on as paint and covers the lips pretty thoroughly. It has a matte finish which means no gloss or shine. Most shades are on the cool side. As a suggestion, if you are paranoid about picking the wrong lipstick or would like to give a gift that 'will work', then you may want to check out the Zurich and Cannes shades.
